Then the famous scientist-ophthalmologist Young bought out from the landowner Bakhtysh Murza Shirinsky 973 dessiatines of land. On the acquired slopes he planted the vineyards and started the construction of the winery. The case of Yunga was continued by his son - Alexander Eduardovich, who comprehended the secrets of creating excellent alcoholic beverages in Spain, Italy, Germany and France. In 1924, the first state farm was founded in Otuzah, which in six years was divided into two separate manufactures. The leading sectors of these enterprises are viticulture and tobacco growing. The activities of state farms were discontinued in 1941 because of the outbreak of war. In 1944, after the liberation of the Crimea from the Nazis, the collective farms were reunited and transformed into a state farm "Koktebel" , which is today one of the most ambitious and high-tech in the whole of Ukraine. Koktebel craftsmen, when creating wines and cognacs, carefully observe long-term traditions.
